:) Till long file names NortonCommander was my choice. 4dos for windows exists AFAIK but now I don't have neither :(
NC was even capable of doing replace, view with multiple files, send results to panel etc.

>Glad it helped. I find it hard to believe that they did something stupid like this. I use ctrl-f all the time. IMHO, the find dialog in Windows2000 was already a step backwards compared to Win98. What I find most annoying is that ctrl-f uses the current window to display the search results. That alone is ok, but after a search there's no easy way to switch between the search result and the folder. You have to click < folders > and < back >. Finally when you do that, the search result is simply lost eventhough there's a node "Search Results"! I still find it hard after switching from Win98.
