There are several changes internally to VFP, such as support for Interfaces that can be tied to events. This would allow you to build more useful applications.

You're boss is overlooking programmer productivity. If you are more productive, your customer pays less. The Test Harness can be used to better test the application, giving your customer an app with fewer bugs. The Task List can be used to track things that need to be completed, so features, even small ones, aren't missed.
