I get the following error

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Oracle][ODBC]Function sequence error.

When I try to update an Oracle9i table that has a data type LONG in it [via ASP].

Any ideas why?

I am using a LONG field as a replacement for SQL Server TEXT type - is
this correct, or should I use another data type ?

If we remove the LONG field, we don't get the error.
