OK - but geez - how hard would it be for MS to put this in SysMetric or a GetColorDepth() function?

>AFAIK, this is still the only way to do it. I've checked both the logical places where this type of functionality might be added (the SYS() and SYSMETRIC() functions) and don't see an entry that would return the desired value.
