I am coding an table audit trail by using update, insert and delete triggers. I was surprized to find, when a cascading delete fires the delete trigger on a child table, that the record pointer is not at the record to be deleted when the trigger fires.

Was I just naive to have expected that the record pointer would have moved to the record being deleted, when the delete trigger fired?
