Hi everyone,

I have an accounting + order processing application developed using VFP6, and installed in our 18 offices worldwide. Each office maitains its own database, and data are not shared. Generally data are consolidated every quarter using manual procedures.

Each site has on average 30 users.

Currently, our company has decided to go for VPN or Similar solution. The Application is to be changed in such a way that;

1. Each office will upload their data from their local network to a centeral data server, which will consolidate the data and can give a complete picture of business immediately.

2. Management and marketing staff can get information on accounts as well as sales/purchase (Consolidated figures) any time any where.

3. Restricted access to Customers or Suppliers will be provided over extranet.

I tried checking out Web Connections, Foxtalk etc.. But still I'm not sure, which one is right for me.

Some considerations I went through are;

A. Whether I should allow on-line data updates direct to the central server (here, speed will be a factor);
B. Allow users to create the data on their local servers, and later upload it in a batch to the centeral server. May be once a day or more..

I have never developed any internet enabled applications, and I'm wondering where can I get more information.

can any one help me here please.

TIA
Regards
Shaishav
