Bret;

Just thought I would comment on one cable provider - AT&T@Home. After the Excite.com problems everything has been working well since the begining of December. Excite.com was the ISP for AT&T in case you did not know.

I am happy with the service as it seems to be transparent at this point - it does not let you know it is there. What is interesting is that I have had no outages since AT&T took over the ISP. With Excite.com we had an average of two outages a week which would last for hours (4-6).

Having said that I will go home tonight and my Internet connection will never work again! Such is life in the "big city"! :) We pay $44.95 a month which includes using a modem from AT&T. If you have your own modem it is $10 less a month. It sure beats a 56K connection! :)

>>>Sounds cool. How about a URL for the company? I might need this in the future in my Alabama home.

>It says "DIRECTV® programming and systems sold separately" on the website. So the $60/month doesn't include any satellite television service, right?

>After all the horror stories I've heard about the quality of service from DSL and cable internet providers, maybe Direcway can be worth $60/month just by not screwing up.
