I wish I could see a change in the offing, but there doesn't seem to be much hope for that. The politicians have us all so busy just trying to keep ends meeting that they get little genuine interference from us ("the people") any more. They are free to pursue their own agenda in their own world, all the while pretending that they are doing it because it's what we asked them to do.
