>Is there any help out there for conversion of a dBase4 or 3.5 app to VFP?

I'd recommend a rework. I have an old app that started out life in dBase III+ and still runs with dBase V. I don't think I did anything squirrelly in the code, but when I tried to compile and run in VFP (5, I think) the machine locked up.

In all probability the business logic and rules in your dBase app have changed anyway, so you'd be better off redesigning it. Plus you'd be missing out on many of the features VFP offers.
