I'm almost ashamed to ask the question....

How can I get the names of the files located in a specific directory?

I remember using a function (I thought dir) that could give me the name of the first file available in the directory, and if used in a loop it would provide me with the name of files until the directory is empty... but my memory must be failing me because I can not find that function anywhere.

Any tips/idea?
