How do you know that the folder started in is the same on all PC's. The shortcut's Start in folder is a good place to point to a common starting point, perhaps the Drive\Folder where the data resides.

Also, out of really old time curiousity, on the PC's where you're having problems, try installing to the C Drive and see if you get the problem.
