I really think that's where Menachem's book fell apart. It didn't have enough meat and potatoes information for developing an app. Nothing against Menachem...he just looks at things differently than Whil does. Whil has always been very hands on. Look at GLGDW as an example.. not lots of theory in the sessions, but lots of practical stuff.

However, after getting Fundamentals, my learning curve for actually developing an application accelerated. I never like to really pan a tutorial -- because it's always different strokes for different folks -- but the application development part of Fundamentals really made a huge difference for me.
