Yes, those settings are stored in the registry and updated when you click on theSet As Default button

The edit preferences are stored in the resource file foxuser.dbf. Make sure that SET RESOURCE is ON. Also changing preferences would affect only currewnt and newly created forms/classes because VFP stores edit preferences for each edited form/class/program, e.t.c.
