Sorry, I should have mentioned that they have all their forms set to default data session so all the opening is available to all forms. Also I should have mentioned that they do not use a database catalog at all which I am working on them about for their next version, but they are afraid of complications.

I only see these problems and think that I've never seen such problems with DC and DE , and Private DS <s>

>At the risk of stating the obvious, it sounds like you have a session issue. Are the form DE's, by any chance, set to be private? If so, any table that gets opened in the Load() is not going to be accessible in other forms. That's the first thing that pops to mind.
