>Someone told me yesterday, but I didn't believe it, that you can create a View with free tables. Anyone know about this? I know that you need a DBC. When I went to create a view, the view designer wanted some tables from within the DBC. So that means that the tables must then be converted to VFP type with a link back to the DBC, versus free tables like FoxPro 2.x tables.

Yes, you can create views from the free tables, even 2.5 tables. You just select Other in that dialog and select your table. The 2.5 table itself will not be changed or included in the database.
