C5 errors are Windwos errors not VFP. The most common causes of C5 errors from within VFP is a conflicting device driver. The usual suspects are the video driver and/or the printer driver.

You can try swapping each of those with a generic driver (one at a time) and if the problem goes away that was the culprit.
