>>Echo that. Of all the impressive things at KSC, and there are a ton of them, perhaps the most impressive is walking out of the Apollo exhibit's orientation video to find yourself looking up at the business end of a Saturn V rocket. Then imagine yourself strapped into the top of that thing...

Craig;

I worked on the LEM/APOLLO project and we created the antenna system for the vehicles. These consisted of 4 each parabolic antennas in an array with servo/motor control to remained locked on a designated earth station while the vehicle moved through space. Very interesting work. All contracts went to the lowest bidder. In our case our company (Dalmo Victor) invented the parabolic reflector back in the 1930’s and we won the antenna contract.

By the way Dalmo Victor (DV)– the Victor is the same guy of RCA Victor fame. After leaving New York he came to the San Francisco Bay Area to help form DV. Then he went to Japan to help form JVC – Japan Victor Company. Remember those VHS video tapes and format? They were invented by JVC. I would like to know more about Mr. Victor. Time for a Internet search – maybe I will find out something. :)
