Why am I not surprised? I do a lot of DHTML work with cross browsers support (believe me, not by choice) and I have been very pleased with Netscape 6.x's support for HTML 4.0. I can't imagine why Microsoft would not want to provide the best possible support for all HTML 4.0 compliant browsers (Mozilla, Opera). It really is in their best interest for .NET acceptance. It may be political but I would guess it was more a time and money issue. Hopefully future releases will improve on this assuming the "other" browsers are still around :).
