Steve,
I use an approach similar to that quite often. Modal Form "A" processes records. Either the logic, or the user, may require the processing of Modal Form "B" or Modal Form "C".

When Modal Form "B" or "C" operate, they perform certain functions on data in a related file. At the end of the processing in either form, the "release" command is executed and the form goes away until it is needed again.

Are you trying to do something beyond this simple scenario?
