I am willing to devulge that my statement is based on conversations with the people that know. The people that know the most about the innerds of Fox have stated that it is a fact that any port to CLR would lack the data engine and all of the functionality that the data engine provides. It is the same people that explained that a large portion of VFP's speed is tied into the data engine and that a port to CLR would greatly reduce the performance advantages that VFP enjoys. These people are also extremely knowledgable about teh CLR and how it works internally as well. Beyond that level of detail I am not able to go.
