Christof:

I think if anything, this thread may have shown Rob the strength of the Fox community and may well re-inforce VOM's original decision to enter the Fox market with their tool. Also, Rob has been present on West Wind forum but not here and probably not Compuserve either. Therefore, he and his company have been exposed, chastised and then re-welcomed <s> to the UT. It may be that VOM can now explore the opportunities that a different and large segment of Fox users offer that may not visit the West Wind often or at all. Hopefully, VOM will have more presence here from now on.

I think all in all, everyone involved has become a little closer than they would have been despite the fight.

So don't feel too bad. I'm sure that you and your expertise will prove as usefull to VOM as you have been to the rest of us and given the special circumstances of your entry to their userbase <s>, they will probably look after you very well indeed.

>Hi everyone,

>I wish I could undo this thread, but it's not possible... :( I want to clarify a few issues:
>
>- My firewall noticed two probes on port 80. This does not mean that VOM tried to hack into my computer, maybe just wanted to find out who I am. I made the original statement emotionally loaded, which I shouldn't have done considering my position and the reputation I had.
>
>- After I received that email I tried to access their website, but wasn't able. Because I was able to access it from a different computer and with a different IP from my computer, I mistakenly concluded that they blocked my IP. There could have been a lot more reasons why this happened. I apologize for giving the impression that VOM locks out customers.
>
>- I was looking if there's a preview version of 3.0 publically available, which is why I entered the URL. It's of course the right of VOM to monitor activities on their server. I merely was surprised from this reaction to my actions, because I've never seen something like this before. I want to make sure that everyone knows that VOM reacted after I acted, not viceversa.
>
>- Visual UML is a good product and saying anything else would mean to lie. I've just ordered a copy, as that's what I intended to do before I got the mail from Rob. I ordered a bit earlier (originally I planned to order when the trial period is over) in an attempt to pay back some of the damage I caused.

>I'd encourage every VFP developer who needs an UML tool to take a look at Visual UML. It's collaboration with VFP makes it, IMO, the first choice.
