Bernhart,
This is not a problem with VFP. Actually the problem is with the way that the control is built by DBI. For them to be compatible with older versions of VB they set the OLEMISC_SIMPLEFRAME bit when building the control. I started building ActiveX controls in Delphi because they weren't dependent on the MS C++ runtimes. If you look at the entire thread #
517109 you will see that I originally had the same problem with my controls. However, when I changed the bit flag which is not required for VFP it fixed the problem. My control did not have the same problem as the ctDays control has when using VFP Shortcut menus over the control either.
I haven't had much luck at having DBI make changes or updates to their controls. I've told them of problems running their ctDays control which does not behave very well with VFP shortcut menus. They did recently ship out V2.5 for the PIM Solution. However, they renamed some properties which broke several parts of my code which had been working for a couple of years. A major no no when upgrading ActiveX controls.
The only way around it is to climb the containership tree if using that control.
