I think the stupid pills were actually taken on my side. I am pretty new at this programming stuff and I don't always know how to ask the proper questions.

I am using a combobox where the RowsourceType = Value and the Rowsource is a list of values separated by commas (i.e. Barcode, Description). I am trying to have the combobox display the first value in the list upon startup and when a user clicks a command button, I am evaluating which value is in the combobox and running the rest of the program from there.

Actually, the info that you have given me is already helping me with my quest.
