When I make the listbox visible, I would like one of the records to be highlighted. I have tried various combinations of the selected property and the mouse click property as well as the click event. I have also encoutered this and it was usally caused by the "tab" order. Try setting the tab order to the list box as 1st. May not have anything to do with your problem but worth a check. Works the same way in grids.If not that I think there is a "ListIndex" property you can set.
