Back to my original problem with Synch/Asynch speed. I did notice a few things: Working against my SQL Server 2000 test data which contains no index optimization; the Asynch SQLExec()s where slow. However, running the same query against an Oracle 8i test data with index optimization resulted a similar time-to-output for both Asynch/Synch modes. In fact, I can hardly tell the difference!

IHMO, SQLExec()s are very much affected by the backend database optimization as well.
