I have a small application with a form and a print button that prints a report “to print prompt.”

I have recently made small changes to the app, and re-loaded it on a few computers in a small LAN. Most of these computers have a laser HP4 printer as their default printer, which is a shared printer on one of the computers. The app works fine on these computers.

However on one computer, the application does not select the default printer (HP4) when the print button is clicked. Instead, a Generic/Text only printer is selected as the default. However this Generic/Text printer is not set as the default printer. The HP4 is set to the default in the windows printers folder. The Generic/Text printer is however connected to this particular computer on LPT1, and is shared because other users have to print to it.

If I exit the application and go into VFP5 on this computer, and select File from the menu, and Print, HP4 is the default printer, which is correct.

But when I run the application, and click the print button, the printer that is chosen is the Generic/Text printer on LPT1, instead of the default HP4 printer?

The previous version of this app worked fine on this computer, and printed to the default HP4 printer. But the most recent version, always selects the Generic /Text printer on LPT1 in the printer dialog (the HP4 is there, if one uses the drop-down, but the Generic is the chosen printer?)

Can anyone explain the reason for this bad behavior, and perhaps the solution to this problem.
