This is a very long shot.

1. Are the EXEs on the same folder? They may be having contention with the FOXUSER file.

2. If on different folders, try putting the FOXUSER files on each folder.

Obviously the shared data is in FPDos format. The VFP app only reads the data. If the VFP app is started before the FPDos app, FPDos throws the dreaded error, however all is fine when the order is reversed. The data is on a Novell box, I've tried rebuilding the table and indexes, and most of the normal fixes, all to no avail. There is no buffering involved and I have several similar apps which function perfectly, any ideas gratefully recieved
