The method to select a specific listitem in a listview control is as follows: Thisform.olecontrol1.object.listitems(x).selected=.T.
assuming the olecontainer for the listview OCX is called olecontrol1

As far as starting the label edit mode, all my attempts to begin this resulted in a OLE error message. I can only assume that VFP does not support this function even though it is a function listed in the snippets.
