The February issue of FoxPro Advisor had an excellent article by Mark Miller. You can download the application at
http://www.msdcweb.com/tools.htm If you choose to create a "File DSN" (a small text file) for a DBC it will look something like Mark Miller's VFPSampleData.dsn :
[ODBC]
DRIVER=Microsoft Visual FoxPro Driver
UID=
Deleted=Yes
Null=Yes
Collate=Machine
BackgroundFetch=Yes
Exclusive=No
SourceType=DBC
SourceDB=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\MSDN98\98VSa\1033\SAMPLES\VFP98\dataBOBBER\Testdata.dbc
The "free table" version of the "File DSN" will have different source information and will merely point to the directory of your dbf, not the actual file itself. I hope that this helps.
