Title:
Japanese Data Entry
Hello All,
We have a client that will be using a VFP 6 application in both U.S. English and Japanese environments. As a result, we are requiring that they run it under either Windows 2000 or XP, and that they install the Japanese input locale on the Japanese machines and set it as the default input locale.
After doing this, we're changing the font used in all text boxes in all forms to one which supports both Roman and Japanese alphabet characters (MS UI Gothic). In testing, it seems to allow input of and storage of Roman and Japanese characters in the database tables.
My question for anyone who's done this in Windows 2000 or XP is: Am I missing anything, or is there any sort of codepage conversion that is necessary to get DBCS Japanese characters stored in the database tables? It seems to work fine now, but I want to make sure I'm not overlooking anything.
Thanks,
Ben Holton
