Title:
Sending raw file to Printer name in network wont do?
The History:
My client has added Win2K computers to his network. I used to network print from a DOS FoxPro accounts program by copying a print file to a named network printer eg "COPY F0192345.PRN \\ABC\REPORTS". However this now will not work, bless Microsoft they have changed it to allow Novell NDS to operate but not themselves. I cannot use NET USE LPT1 \\ABC\REPORTS as this would be too limiting. I can however still send the print file to a network folder that is seperate for each printer.
The nub of it:
I have written a VB v6 sp5 program that polls these folders and reads via the scripting control the file and sends it to the printer.print property. Yes it works but!! I cannot stop it formatting the file. HOW??? I need to send the raw file somehow. FileCopy does not work in any flavour, nor does move or open and write operations.
I will bless anybody who comes up with an answer as its driving me.....
