Since the folks on this forum were kind enough to select the View Editor for recognition last year, I thought I'd return the favor (kinda) by asking what enhancements you'd *most* like to see in version 3, currently under development.

Here is the list I've compiled over the last few months, both from my own wish-list and feedback from users. It's a long list (boy, you guys are tough about the stuff you want in your free tools! <g>), and I'd like to concentrate the limited time I have to moving this product forward on the stuff that most people find useful.

Naturally, I'll give those features *I* find most useful (and easiest to implement) the *top* priority, but I can be persuaded on the other stuff. <g>

What I'd like to do, rather than try to moderate a free-for-all right here in the forum, is to ask anyone who's used the View Editor, to pick *three* of the features listed below as the ones most important to you. In the case of the export options and configuration options, consider each option listed as a single feature.

Please email me with your top three features, listed from most- to least-important, and I'll see what I can do to get this stuff into the release. Please put "VE3 Enhancement" in the subject line.

Also, indicate in your email if you're interested in beta testing version 3 before I release it on an unsuspecting developer community.

Create "most recently used" list for databases

Add a configuration dialog
** Global settings **
------ Open last database on startup
------ Use when editing views in SDT
------ Use when editing views in VFE
------ Automatically set the connection value and
--------- define views as REMOTE if the database has a single connection
** Database specific settings **
------ Default value for update "Where" clause
------ Default value for "share connection"
------ Default view rule
------ Default export PRG filename
------ CamelCase rules

Add an export dialog
** Export code for:
------ Current view only
------ All views
** Export code as
------ inline code
------ wrapped in FUNCTION...ENDFUNC
** Export code to
------ Clipboard (enabled for single view export only)
------ Add to/replace in specified PRG

Support for free tables

Create a picklist (probably through a combo box) of available databases from the currently active project

Allow opening an existing view by entry into the view name textbox if the view exists in the selected database

Allow display the SQL Showplan for a view
