Just wanted to thank you for this response. I did a search and found this from the archives but it helped solve my problem.

Basically the behavior is this:

I have modal form A with pepperwhite map active-x control. This active-x control quits responding to mouse clicks when I click on an image which calls another modal form B. This image is located on the same page of a 5 page pageframe. If this image is located on another pageframe and I click on it thus calling the modal form B, the active-x control still responds to mouse clicks.
