Yes, I tried both Lotus Notes automation and WWIPStuff class to send e-mails.
They were both successful. I got the e-mail (ping message) on my VoiceStream cellular right the way when I send it from Notes automation. But when I used WWIPStuff to communicate with our SMTP server, it took 20 minutes before my celluar got the message. Both methods used the same SMTP server (which is part of the LOTUS Notes setup in our school) to send out the e-mails.
I am wondering why... ?
I also realize that there might be a scurity issue when sending e-mail through
SMTP server directly. I did not see a slight overhead of using Notes automation,
which maybe because I was only testing a few e-mails. Is it possible that there
is delay in security check while sending it to SMTP Server directly ?
What do people do to protect their SMTP servers from being abused by hackers or
careless users ?

Thanks for your help.

Kam.
