No I am not using VFP COM servers on this. The app has no problem running under VFP5, but will not run under VFP6 or VFP7 because of this difficulty in handling the content of luTemp var which is something like "▐coldalternate =" . I don't understand this funky graphic character which is at the beginning of the string. This is the way it is spelled out in the VFE5 class, which is understood by VFP5 but fails in VFP6 or VFP7.
