I seem to remember a similar story about Roger Milliken, owner of Milliken and Co., doing a similiar thing when one of his carpet mills burned in Georgia. They rebuilt the plant in record time, at great expense, and got people back to work. I think it was in George Tasker's area of Georgia. He may know more of the story.
