We have just had a rash of access rights problems with certain DBF files on an NT server. Apparently, NT assigns file ownership upon creation of the file, and this can affect other users' ability to access the file.

The folder is accessible to several groups, but sometimes access is disallowed for one group of users. Our IS group believes it has something to do with the way FOXPRO is opening and locking the file. Somehow, they think FoxPro is not releasing it properly.

Does anyone know why this would happen, or have a link to a good resource on FoxPro file handling on NT?
