I would love to hear the outcome. By the way, there are about 75 readers who have signed up for a yahoo site I started about a year ago, Sometimes its active, sometimes quiet
But the its all about VFP+Myslq

I got into it, becuase I felt I was missing something, and what I turned out I was missing was the ability to wite a great desktop application, and serve it up over the internet. (without a browser) Now todays newest buzz words are all about the dot net, where data came come from server, and your desktop app is becoming a more of full fledged terminal, without the limitation of the browser...
Well, Sure thats one way. the .net. uses xml and 'open standards' and relys on the CLR... leaving VFP out there in the dust.
Taking a step backwards, to good old odbc, set up a server, run a vfp killer client app, and what do you have. A great database application, served up over the net, without licencing fee's of the .net. and speed, well odbc was designed to work with what a 14.4 modem ? 9600 baud. Earler this year I spend a week in san diego, using my application daily over the net at a 28.8 dialup speed. Belive me, when it flys, the speed over the net at 28.8 was almost as good as sitting on my own network, with 100 base T connection to the server. Its all how well you write your sql statments.

Enough of me preaching to the choir.
here is the group if your interested.

In the beginning, there was a command prompt, and all was well.
