I have recently been battling to get Msinet.ocx to send and receive files. In some cases it works, but in others, the connection gets slower and slower until it grinds to a halt.

I have tried closing and reopening the connection programmatically after a predefined timeout, but it doesn't take long to grind to a halt again. Has any one else experience of this, and if so any insights as to the cause: a specific type of FTP server for example?

Failing this, does anyone have any recommendations for third party controls that are cheap, simple and reliable?
