If you are working with MySQL I don't understand some basic things.

Can you easily make a distributable application this way, or would you have trouble distributing MySQL? (Could you send a version out on your CD to be easily installed onto the server?)

If you can distribute an application (and even if you only set up MySQL servers for a half-dozen or so different businesses) -- is there a data dictionary with some functionality, so that you can automate the creation and alteration of tables upon installation of a new VFP executable?

Normally I update my VFP tables so easily using Doug Hennig's SDT. I could not stand to access all my client's servers to update the tables, even if I had to talk them through installing MySQL. I guess I could extend SDT to UpdateMySql... But what is generally done?
