>>Actually, the copy edit for grammer and readabilty and the running of code snippets is all I feel qualified to do, as well as pulling the pieces together, getting the copy into the format that hentzenwerke requires, all that general legwork that you real programmers might be distracted by. I just feel this might be a project that's time has come. I appreciate the help I have gotten from the UT community in the short time I have been here and I am ready to return what I can.

We discussed this idea with Vlad in private just couple of days before this thread appeared, it's really a great coincidence. I already read the comments that Ed and Bret made, they are not that encouraging, unfortunately. Let's see, if positive comments about this idea in general can overweight them, and this book would really happen.

Ed does seem a bit angry and cynical, but I've met alot of people like that in several professions. I try to only hear what they are saying, not how they are saying it.
Opportunity is missed by most people beacuse it is dressed in overalls, and looks like work --- Thomas Edison
