How many files are you transferring at a time? How big are they?

Have you checked west-wind.com to see if Rick Strahl has any better ftp client code?

The problem is also specific to certain environments - though whether this is to do with the version of Wininet.dll (msinet.ocx seems to sit on this), general network issues, alignment of planets, etc I have no idea.
