I guess there's not much use anymore for the entire, original saying, "Lord willing, and the creek don't rise, I'll see you..." Not too many people these days are limited by a creek -- but in the old days (before our time), a high creek would make it impossible to get the mule and wagon across.
People in my hometown in Alabama still use the entire expression, however.
