We have an interesting relationship with the French. Remember, without the French we would not have won the Revolutionary War with England! However, I am reminded that a monarch and not the “common man” headed the government in France at the time! I think that after the monarchy in France, things became different between our countries.

Remember the line from Rex Harrison in “My Fair Lady”? “The French do not care what they do, as long as they pronounce it correctly”!

No this is not meant to be a “politically sensitive” message but rather a statement of reality. Remember I have degrees in History, Political Science and something else – oh electronics engineering. Anyway I am older than most of you guys so I demand respect! If that does not work – I am 6’ 7” tall and have black belts in judo and karate. Now do you get the picture? :)

Paris was used as the “Hub” and all tracks had to run from north, south, east or west through Paris. Paris was like the hub of a wheel if you will. Many people did not understand how Nazi Germany was able to get to Paris so fast when it attacked. The Germans loaded tanks and men on French trains from eastern France and made straight for Paris.
