Land or some natural resource which ultimately leads back to land. While many wars have been fought in the "name of Religion", I would bet the underlying factor was still land.

I don't much care for eminent domain either. Part of the aforementioned family farm in South Carolina was ruined when the State allowed the power company to string those massive power line structures and power lines through one side of the property.
