I agree with you. Even the guys at Crystal tech support asked me why I wasn't using the RDC. The reason I have been using the ActiveX control and not the RDC is because the application I am updating was already using ActiveX control. If I was starting from scratch, I probably would use the RDC. That's what Crystal tech support recommended that I do and that sounds like what you recommend too.

Thus far, I have been able to do all of the reports I ever needed using the ActiveX control. Crystal tech support also told me that it would take alot of code rewriting to switch from ActiveX usage to RDC usage and from the looks of things, I would agree. I am too deep into the development process to switch to another interface now. I can't remember, but the RDC was a new control starting with Crystal Version 7?

Don't anyone ask me about the RDC, I am not up to speed and have not used it, just studied it and read about it.
