There is one other thing you might consider, but the code would not be in the grid. When a browse window is open, FoxPro add a menu pad to the default menu called Table. One of the options under the table menu pad is Toggle Delete Mark with a Ctrl+T just to the right of it. This create a hot key Ctrl+T that delete a record. Could you incorporate a default menu with the Ctrl+T hot key that worked in conjuction with the form's grid? This could be used to delete a record in the gird's record source which would be reflected in the grid as so as it is refreshed.
