Can't be too far. There was no pornography until some religions came to the conclusion that life should not be a joy, but rather a sufferable preparation for death. Unfortunately, they ruled for quite a number of centuries, and of course there's contraband.

Whenever a ban is established, its prime effect is to stuff a lot of money into the pockets of the sleazes who know how to evade it.
