I have been toying with a Document control concept for handling classes defined in class libraries. What I was thinking of was a VFP application which would manage classes independent of class libraries while automating VSS. This application would do the following.

1. Check out classlib from VSS
2. Extract the specific class from checked oout classlib
3 Insert class into a local class library
4. Check in classlib to VSS
5. Maintain check-out status on specific class
6. Check out classlib from VSS
7. Extract the specific class from a local class library
8. Insert class into checked out classlib
9. Check in classlib to VSS


I already have a component developed for extract/insert/replace of specific classes from classlibs. I tried to encourage my fellow local user group members to participate in an open source project to accomplish this, it seems none of them work in a multi developer environment.
It is VERY difficult to develop systems in a multi developer environment when an entire library is checked out for extended periods of time.
