Hmmm ... let's talk about apples and grapes here <g> This is kinda like asking "Should I use VB or Word?" Both ok programs for what they're used for, but basically two different animals.

Access is an end-user "database" (note that I put database in quotes here). VFP is a full-on development environment. No contest ....
